Martina Hengge joined the Center for International Development's Growth Lab as a Visiting Fellow in 2018.
Martina is currently pursuing a PhD in International Economics at at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. Her research interests focus on international economics, macroeconomics, and applied econometrics and she is passionate about using econometric techniques to inform policymaking.
While undertaking her PhD, Martina has taught graduate-level econometrics for two consecutive years and participated in the International Monetary Fund summer internship program. Previously, she worked at the European Commission and the International Labor Office. Martina holds a Master in International Economics from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and a Master in International Strategy and Economics from the University of St Andrews.
A native speaker of German, Martina is fluent in English and has good knowledge of Spanish and an intermediate level of French.
