Shreyas Gadgin Matha joined the Center for International Development's Growth Lab as a Research Fellow in 2018.

Prior to joining CID, Shreyas obtained a masters in Technology and Policy from MIT, where he worked with Prof. Jonathan Gruber on a project to understand the regional economic impacts of US R&D policy, and on a second project that aimed to review and design public health insurance systems for Indian states. He has also worked with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) on Randomized Controlled Trials (RCT) to evaluate innovative air pollution regulation strategies such as emissions trading scheme and an information-disclosure scheme. He is interested in bringing together problems from the social sciences and techniques from computer science and economics, in order to better inform public policy. He holds bachelors in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and a Masters in Economics from BITS Pilani, India, and a Masters in Technology and Policy from MIT.
